ORS 136.623
Definitions


(1)

“Witness,” as used in ORS 136.623 (Definitions) to 136.637 (Short title), shall include a person whose testimony is desired in any proceeding or investigation by a grand jury or in a criminal action, prosecution or proceeding.

(2)

The word “state” shall include any territory of the United States and District of Columbia.

(3)

The word “summons” shall include a subpoena, order or other notice requiring the appearance of a witness. [Formerly 139.210]

Defendant in misdemeanor case was entitled to utilize Uniform Act provisions to compel attendance of out-of-state witnesses. State v. Harris, 47 Or App 665, 615 P2d 363 (1980)
