Nonoffice-holding Residents Appointed to Board of Property Tax Appeals (BOPTA) Pools

As used in ORS 309.020 (Board of property tax appeals)(5) and 309.067 (Pool of members)(1)(b), a nonoffice-holding resident is a county resident who is not:

(1)

A member of the county governing body;

(2)

A member of the governing body of any taxing district within the county;

(3)

An elected official of the county;

(4)

A person employed or hired by the county or any taxing district within the county;

(5)

A former county assessor, or any appointee acting in the place of the assessor, that held the office or appointed position during the assessment or tax year subject to appeal to BOPTA; or

(6)

A person previously employed in or hired by the office of the assessor during the assessment or tax year subject to appeal to BOPTA.
