Review of Treating Practitioner’s Determination of Good Cause by an Independent Examining Physician


(1)

Prior to the involuntary administration of psychotropic medications for good cause, the treating practitioner shall refer his or her recommendation for review to an independent examining physician who will convene a medication review hearing.

(2)

The hearing may be held no more than ten days after the treating practitioner submits a determination that good cause exists.
