Time Limits

(1)

Any order authorizing use of therapeutic restraint expires after 12 hours.

(2)

A physician may renew the order for a second 12-hour period.

(3)

If therapeutic restraint is necessary for more than 24 consecutive hours, a second consulting physician must approve the order.
