Hospital Designation Criteria

(1)

The Division shall utilize criteria as set forth in OAR 333-200-0090 (Trauma Hospital Approval and Categorization)(4) and may, in addition, utilize the following criteria for selecting trauma system hospitals:

(a)

Locations of major trauma incidents; and

(b)

Geographical barriers which impede air or ground transportation.

(2)

The Division shall consider the information contained in Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient: Committee on Trauma American College of Surgeons, 2014, when interpreting the standards for the purpose of designating trauma system hospitals. This publication is not adopted as part of these rules.
