Establishing Expiration Dates for Certificates of Recordation of Brands


(1)

Except as provided in subsection (2), when issuing a new certificate of recordation or when renewing an existing certificate of recordation, the department may establish or adjust the expiration date of the certificate as the department considers necessary to ensure that an approximately equal number of certificates will expire in each year of a four-year cycle.

(2)

Every certificate of recordation must have at least one expiration date in each four-year cycle.
