In General

(1)

Except as otherwise provided, all side clearance shall be at least 8 feet 6 inches, as measured from centerline of track.

(2)

The side clearances set forth in these rules are minimum requirements established for employee safety. Nothing in these rules shall prohibit a railroad from requiring greater clearances.
