Temporary Authorization for Military Spouse
(1)
A spouse of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States who is stationed in Oregon may obtain a temporary authorization as a landscape construction professional valid until the earliest of the following:(a) Two years from the date of issue;
(b) The date the applicant’s spouse completes the spouse’s active-duty service in Oregon; or
(c) The date the applicant’s authorization issued by another state expires.
(2) The applicant shall complete an application as provided in OAR 808-003-0015 (Application for Landscape Contracting Business and Landscape Construction Professional License).
(3) The applicant may apply for any phase of license listed in OAR 808-003-0035 (License Categories)(1).
(4) The applicant must hold a current authorization in another state to perform landscaping work as defined in OAR 808-002-0500 (Landscaping Work).
(5) The applicant must be in good standing in the state or states in which the applicant is currently licensed. For purposes of this subsection, “good standing” means the applicant:
(a) Does not have any unpaid claims or debts relating to landscape activities; and
(b) Has not been convicted of any crime as stated in ORS 671.610 (Grounds for sanctions against licensee)(1)(s).
(6) To demonstrate competency, the applicant must successfully pass the Laws, Rules and Business Practices section of the exam.
(7) The applicant shall:
(a) pay the application fee as provided in OAR 808-003-0710 (Fees)(1); and
(b) pay the license fee as provided in OAR 808-003-0130 (Fees)(1).
(8) These requirements do not eliminate or supersede any requirement for any other license or credential required by another Oregon state agency or local government.
