Transportation certificate


(1)

Cattle transported from the premises of the owner or person in lawful possession to another place in this state shall be accompanied by a transportation certificate.

(2)

For the purposes of this section “transportation certificate” means a document signed by the owner or person in lawful possession of the cattle to be transported, on a form prescribed by the State Department of Agriculture, setting forth the identity of the cattle owner, the point of origin and destination of the cattle, the number of head, a description of the distinguishing characteristics of the cattle, including brands, tags, breed and sex, and an authorization to transport if it is to be performed by a person other than the owner.

(3)

A transportation certificate is not required for cattle herded, drifted or trailed to or from pasture or range in this state in the usual course of ranch operation. [1981 c.248 §12]
