A hearing may be postponed by the hearings officer for good cause and for reasonable periods of time.


Good cause includes, but is not limited to:


Preparation of defense;


Illness or unavailability of the inmate charged;


Gathering of additional evidence (e.g., calling of witnesses, gathering of witnesses’ statements, investigation, acquisition of physical evidence); or


Avoiding interference with ongoing police investigation or pending prosecution.


The reason(s) for the postponement shall be stated on the record.
