Standards of Conduct for a Registry


A registry must do all of the following:

(1)

Maintain accurate and complete records of each search.

(2)

Keep confidential all adoption file information and all work product developed during an assisted search process.

(3)

Only contact adoptees, birth family members, or adoptive family members under the provisions of these rules.

(4)

Act within applicable statutory and administrative rules.

(5)

Not contact, exert pressure, or in any other way solicit an adoptee, adoptive parent or guardian, birth parent, or putative father to register with the registry except as allowed in relation to an assisted search.

(6)

Accept fees not exceeding those described these rules.
