Exemptions


The OYA Director, or designee, may approve or deny an exemption from the enforcement or establishment of a child support obligation on a case-by-case basis only where:

(1)

The offender was adopted through a government agency, and the adoptive parent(s) receives a reduced subsidy as determined by the government agency, or no subsidy from the government agency;

(2)

A grandparent or other family member adopted the offender;

(3)

The offender’s parent(s)’s parental rights were terminated prior to the offender’s commitment to OYA; or

(4)

The offender’s offense conduct includes person-to-person victimization of an immediate family member.
