Room-lock Other


(1) The purpose of a Room-lock Other Intervention is to place an offender alone in a room with a locked door for a sleep program, medical separation, or the offender has requested Time-out in a closed or locked room.
(2) An offender may only participate in a sleep program during normal sleeping hours. An offender may participate in a sleep program for reasons other than crisis behavior.
(3) Only Health Services staff may direct physical separation of an offender from the offender’s peers for physical health reasons, and only when no other option is available. Staff must allow the offender as much social interaction and out-of-room time as medically possible.
(4) If an offender is in Room-lock Other as part of a Time-out, OAR 416-490-0031 (Time-Out) also applies.
(5) Staff must monitor the offender every 15 minutes and document observations in writing.
