Topography Hazard Factor


(1)

The reference for establishing the topography hazard factor shall be:

(a)

A 30-meter or better Digital Elevation Model (DEM); or

(b)

The appropriate 7.5 minute quadrangle map published by the U.S. Geological Survey, USDI.

(2)

Using the reference set forth in subsection (1) of this rule, determine the geographic areas which best describe:

(a)

Areas having an overall slope of 25% (14 degrees) or less; and

(b)

Areas having an overall slope of more than 25% (14 degrees).

(3)

Each geographic area determined in subsection (2) of this rule shall be assigned an appropriate hazard value, as follows:

(a)

A hazard value of 1, for geographic areas described by subsection (2)(a) of this rule; or

(b)

A hazard value of 2, for geographic areas described by subsection (2)(b) of this rule.
