Winter Platform and Hook and Line Season


(1) Subject to the closed area restrictions specified in OAR 635-041-0020 (Areas Closed to Subsistence Fishing) and to the gear restrictions specified in OAR 635-041-0025 (Subsistence Fishing Gear), the commercial sale of fish landed in the Zone 6 winter treaty Indian platform and hook and line fishery is allowed as follows:
(a) The fishery is open from 6 a.m. February 1 through 6 p.m. March 21, annually.
(b) Allowable gear includes hoop nets, dip nets, and rod and reel with hook and line.
(c) Allowable commercial sales include salmon (all species), steelhead, shad, yellow perch, bass, walleye, catfish, and carp.
(d) Sturgeon with a fork length of 43-54 inches in fork length in the Dalles and John Day pools and sturgeon with a fork length of 38-54 inches fork length in Bonneville Pool may be sold only if caught during open commercial gillnet periods for that pool, or may be kept for subsistence purposes.
(2) Fish landed during an open commercial period may be sold after the period concludes.
