Program Objectives


The objectives of the Black Bear Management Plan are:

(1)

Recognize the black bear as an important part of Oregon’s fauna, valued by many Oregonians.

(2)

Maintain healthy black bear populations within the state into the future.

(3)

Conduct a management program that maintains healthy populations of black bear, and recognizes the desires of the public and the statutory obligations of the Department.
