Policies and objectives for fish management in East Lake of the upper Deschutes River Subbasin.

(1)

Policies for fish management in East Lake:

(a)

East Lake brown trout shall be managed for hatchery production consistent with the Trophy Fish Management Alternative for trout;

(b)

Hatchery brook trout shall no longer be stocked in East Lake;

(c)

Rainbow trout, kokanee and Atlantic salmon shall be managed for hatchery production consistent with the Basic Yield Management Alternative for trout;

(d)

Investigate the feasibility of stocking tiger trout in East Lake.

(2)

Objectives for fish management in East Lake:

(a)

Maintain the genetic diversity, adaptiveness, and abundance of rainbow and brown trout, kokanee and Atlantic salmon in East Lake;

(b)

Provide diverse angling opportunities for selected fish species in East Lake;

(c)

Protect and enhance trout rearing and spawning habitat in East Lake;

(d)

Investigate the feasibility of stocking tiger trout in East Lake.
