Width


Permits are required for widths more than eight feet, six inches:

(1)

Unless specifically stated on the permit as authorized by ORS Chapter 818 (Vehicle Limits) or rule, overwidth permits will not be valid if overwidth is caused by two or more items placed side by side or overlapping, or for items that could be loaded at a legal width.

(2)

Except as provided in section (3), items joined (by spot weld, tack weld, bolting, or strapping, etc.) to facilitate transport, shall be considered to be divisible loads and not eligible for overwidth permits.

(3)

Loads no wider than 14’ consisting of pre-assembled railroad track sections are eligible for overwidth permits.
