Certification of Applicant’s Experience


(1)

Requirement to provide verification of experience.

(a)

An applicant is responsible for providing to the Board, written documentation of their experience, including descriptions and examples for each competency. The applicant’s supervisor licensee is required to verify the written documentation prepared by the applicant, in a format prescribed by the Board.

(b)

A supervisor licensee who submits a certification of experience must maintain the Competency Evaluation worksheet for a period of three years after the applicant’s license is issued.

(c)

A supervisor licensee must not commit any act, which unjustly jeopardizes an applicant’s ability to obtain a license in this or any jurisdiction.

(2)

Cooperation of supervisor licensee. A supervisor licensee who has verified the documentation and evidence of an applicant’s experience must provide full cooperation with any Board inquiry pertaining to such certification.

(a)

The supervisor licensee must respond in writing to any request for further information from the Board including, but not limited to, the following:

(A)

Description of any disagreement between an applicant and the supervisor licensee as to dates, quality, and/or type of work performed;

(B)

Explanation regarding a certificate of experience submitted to the Board for which the period of experience appears to be unduly short for achievement of the competencies;

(C)

Verification, on a sample basis, of information submitted by an applicant or attested thereto on a certificate of experience;

(D)

Explanation regarding questions based on the Board’s reasonable belief that the information in the certificate of experience may be false or incorrect; or

(E)

Explanation regarding the basis of refusal, if any, for which the supervisor licensee declines to submit evidence of an applicant’s experience to the Board or to the licensing agency of another jurisdiction.

(b)

The supervisor licensee must cooperate with any inspection, by the Board or by its representative, of documentation relating to an applicant’s claimed experience. The inspection may, at the option of the Board, be made at the Board’s offices or such other places as the Board may designate. A licensee or audit agency or group who has custody of the documentation must produce the required documentation upon request.
