Planning and Coordinated Response


The Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) shall:

(1)

Develop and annually review a Hazardous Materials Transportation by Rail state agency coordination plan in collaboration with Department of Environmental Quality, Oregon Department of Transportation, and Office of Emergency Management. This plan will work with existing local, state, and federal plans, or as required by federal laws and regulations;

(2)

Provide support to local emergency planning committees for administration, outreach, planning, and exercise participation as it relates to oil and hazardous materials transportation by rail;

(3)

By February 1 of each year, and in coordination with local governments, state agencies, emergency responders, and railroad industry representatives involved in hazardous materials response, submit a Legislative Report to the Office of Emergency Management and the Legislative Assembly.
