Major Event Filing by Electric Companies


For any major event for which the CAIDI for the reliability reporting area exceeds five hours, the electric company must submit a report to the Commission within 30 business days after the conclusion of the event that includes:

(1)

A description of the major event, the interruption causes, and factors that impacted restoration of service;

(2)

The reliability reporting area and geographic area impacted;

(3)

The total number of customers affected and the number of customers without service at periodic intervals; and

(4)

The calculated SAIDI, SAIFI and CAIDI impacts (i.e., “Event SAIDI, SAIFI, and CAIDI”) associated with the Major Event to customers on a reliability reporting area and a system-wide basis.

(5)

This rule is effective beginning January 1, 2012.
