Eligibility for supported employment services


(1)

The Program may provide supported employment services to any individual, including a youth with a disability, when:

(a)

The individual is determined eligible for vocational rehabilitation services in accordance with 34 CFR §361.42;

(b)

Is an individual with a most significant disability; and,

(c)

Supported employment has been identified as appropriate for the individual on the basis of a comprehensive assessment of rehabilitation needs, including existing data to the greatest extent possible, that the individual is determined to require supported employment services to maintain and advance in employment.

(2)

Any applicant who has been determined eligible for Social Security benefits under Title II or title XVI of the Social Security Act is:

(a)

Presumed eligible for vocational rehabilitation services; and

(b)

Considered an individual with a significant disability; and

(c)

The Program may start providing services while seeking mandatory verification of the applicant’s eligibility under Title II or Title XVI.
