Allocation of state funds to approved providers


The funds specially appropriated to early childhood special education and early intervention services shall be contracted to providers that have been approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction.


State funds shall be allocated on an approved program basis, the amount of which shall be established pursuant to rules of the State Board of Education.


The provider shall account for the grant funds as expended on a form acceptable to the superintendent pursuant to rules of the state board. [1991 c.749 §28]

Notes of Decisions

As handicapped children are entitled under this chapter to receive special education and related services free of charge, where private residential placement for handicapped child has been found necessary, tuition expense must be borne by school district, and this obligation is not limited to school year.
