State and Local Administration and Enforcement of Public Health Laws

ORS 431.001
Findings


The Legislative Assembly of the State of Oregon finds and declares that:

(1)

Each resident of this state is entitled to the basic public health services that are necessary to preserve life and health;

(2)

A framework for public health services provided by the government is necessary for applying the foundational capabilities and implementing the foundational programs by which the state or a local government may assess, protect or improve the health of the residents of this state; and

(3)

The purpose of ORS 431.001 (Findings) to 431.550 (Power of Oregon Health Authority to collect information from local public health administrators) and 431.990 (Penalties) is to provide the framework described in subsection (2) of this section. [2015 c.736 §1]
