The Oregon Health Authority or a local public health administrator may investigate cases of irregularity or violations of laws or rules necessary for the authority or local public health administrator to execute their duties under subsections (1) and (2) of this section. A local public health administrator shall aid the authority, upon request, in conducting investigations initiated by the authority.

When a violation of a public health law or rule is reported to a district attorney or official acting in the capacity of a district attorney, the district attorney or official shall initiate and promptly commence the necessary proceedings against the party or parties responsible for the alleged violation.
(5)
