Responsibilities of Office of Rural Health
(1)
Coordinating statewide efforts for providing health care in rural areas.(2)
Accepting and processing applications from communities interested in developing health care delivery systems.(3)
Applying for grants and accepting gifts and grants from other governmental or private sources for the research and development of rural health care programs and facilities.(4)
Serving as a clearinghouse for information on health care delivery systems in rural areas.(5)
Helping local health care delivery systems develop ongoing funding sources.(6)
Developing enabling legislation to facilitate further development of rural health care delivery systems.(7)
Providing information to the Department of Revenue about all certifications for tax credits allowed under ORS 315.613 (Credit available to persons providing rural medical care and affiliated with certain rural hospitals), 315.616 (Additional providers who may qualify for credit), 315.619 (Credit for medical staff at type C hospital) and 315.622 (Rural emergency medical services providers), if required by ORS 315.058 (Agency to provide tax credit approval information to Department of Revenue).(8)
The Office of Rural Health may order the suspension or revocation of a certificate or a portion of a certificate issued under ORS 315.613 (Credit available to persons providing rural medical care and affiliated with certain rural hospitals) or 315.622 (Rural emergency medical services providers), as provided in ORS 315.061 (Suspension, revocation or forfeiture).
