Pasteurizer operator license

(1)
Application for a pasteurizer operator license shall be made to the State Department of Agriculture on forms provided by the department. A license issued or renewed by the department under this section may be restricted so as to authorize the licensee to engage only in a limited line of activity commensurate with the ability of the licensee.(2)
An applicant for original issuance of a license must pass a reasonable written examination, give a practical demonstration of ability to carry out licensee duties and pay the fee required by this section.(3)
A license issued under this section expires on June 30 of each even-numbered year next following the date of its issuance or on such date as may be specified by department rule, and may be renewed upon application of the licensee. Each application for issuance or renewal of a license shall be accompanied by a nonrefundable fee determined by the department.(4)
The fee described in subsection (3) of this section shall be established by the department in accordance with ORS chapter 183 and shall not exceed $50.(5)
Subsections (1) to (3) of this section do not apply to a pasteurizer operator license issued as a lifetime license prior to September 29, 1991. However, in order to maintain a lifetime license in effect, the licensee must submit a registration form to the department by June 30 of each even-numbered year or by such date as may be specified by department rule confirming the desire of the licensee to continue the lifetime license.
