OAR 836-051-0900 (Purpose; Authority) to 836-051-0925 (Trade Practice Regulation) establish standards for disclosure of minimum information relating to annuity contracts, to protect consumers and foster consumer education. OAR 836-051-0900 (Purpose; Authority) to 836-051-0925 (Trade Practice Regulation) prescribe the minimum information that must be disclosed and the method for disclosing it in connection with the sale of annuity contracts. The goal of 836-051-0900 (Purpose; Authority) to 836-051-0925 (Trade Practice Regulation) is to ensure that purchasers of annuity contracts understand certain basic features of annuity contracts.(2)
OAR 836-051-0900 (Purpose; Authority) to 836-051-0925 (Trade Practice Regulation) are adopted pursuant to ORS 731.244 (Rules) for the purpose of implementing 746.075 (Misrepresentation generally), 746.085 (Regulating replacement of life insurance), 746.110 (False, deceptive or misleading statements) & 746.240 (Undefined trade practices injurious to public prohibited).
