Juvenile Corrections Population Forecast Advisory Committee
(1)
The Juvenile Corrections Population Forecast Advisory Committee is established.(2)
The committee consists of seven members appointed by the Governor. A member of the committee must be knowledgeable about the juvenile justice system and trends that may affect the juvenile justice system.(3)
The committee shall assist the Oregon Department of Administrative Services in preparing projections of juvenile offender populations.(4)
A majority of the members of the committee constitutes a quorum for the transaction of business.(5)
Official action by the committee requires the approval of a majority of the members of the committee.(6)
The Governor shall select one of the members of the committee to serve as chairperson.(7)
The term of office of each member is four years, but a member serves at the pleasure of the Governor. Before the expiration of the term of a member, the Governor shall appoint a successor whose term begins on January 2 next following. A member is eligible for reappointment. If there is a vacancy for any cause, the Governor shall make an appointment to become immediately effective for the unexpired term.(8)
The committee shall meet at least two times each year, at times and places specified by the call of the chairperson.(9)
The committee may adopt rules necessary for the operation of the committee.(10)
The department shall provide staff support to the committee.(11)
Members of the committee are not entitled to compensation or reimbursement for expenses and serve as volunteers on the committee.(12)
All agencies of state government, as defined in ORS 174.111 (“State government” defined), are directed to assist the committee in the performance of the committee’s duties and, to the extent permitted by laws relating to confidentiality, to furnish information and advice the members of the committee consider necessary to perform their duties.
