Definitions for ORS 420.855 to 420.885
(1)
“Juvenile court” means the court exercising jurisdiction under ORS chapters 419B and 419C in the county.(2)
“Youth” means a youth as defined in ORS 419A.004 (Definitions) who is at least 12 years of age and has been found to be within the jurisdiction of the juvenile court under ORS 419C.005 (Jurisdiction).(3)
“Youth authority” means the Oregon Youth Authority.(4)
“Youth care center” or “center” means a facility established and operated by a public or private agency or a combination thereof, primarily to provide care and rehabilitation services for youths committed to the custody of the youth care center by the juvenile court or placed by the youth authority. “Youth care center” or “center” does not include detention facilities established under ORS 419A.050 (Authority to acquire, equip and maintain detention and shelter facilities) to 419A.057 (Payment of maintenance expenses) except that when a county operates a combined facility to provide both care and rehabilitation services under ORS 420.855 (Definitions for ORS 420.855 to 420.885) to 420.885 (Audit and payment of claims), and detention facilities, the combined facility may be considered a “youth care center” to the extent that it is used to provide the care and rehabilitation services for youths not in detention.
