Oregon Department of Human Services, Self-Sufficiency Programs

Rule Rule 461-135-0850
Specific Requirements; Repatriate Program

For purposes of this rule, “repatriate” means a US citizen who has returned, or been brought back to the US because of destitution, illness (including mental illness), war, threat of war, invasion, or a similar crisis.

To be eligible for the Department’s repatriation services, an individual must be identified by the Department of State’s International Social Services office as a repatriate needing assistance.

A repatriate may receive monthly loan assistance equal to the monthly TANF standard for the equivalent case size (see OAR 461-155-0030 (Income and Payment Standards; REF, TANF)) for a duration of time determined by the federal agency. A Repayment Agreement must be signed prior to the first payment.
