Payment of Benefit Out-of-State


(1)

For all programs except the SNAP and GA programs, the Department sends benefits out of state if a client is absent from Oregon and the client establishes the intent to return within 60 days.

(2)

If a client is detained out of state beyond 60 days for medical reasons, continued eligibility is determined and the client is required to provide documentation of the need to remain in the other state.

(3)

For medical benefits, out-of-state medical expenditures must have prior authorization.

(4)

In the SNAP and GA programs, the Department does not send benefits out of state.
