Exemptions for Pressure Containing Parts of Piping Components

The following are exempt from the requirements of ORS 480.510 (Short title) to 480.665:

(1)

Pressure containers which are integral parts or components of rotating or reciprocating mechanical devices, including but not limited to pumps, compressors, turbines, generators, engines and hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders where the primary design considerations or stresses are derived from the functional requirements of the device.

(2)

Pressure containing parts of other components, including but not limited to strainers and devices which do mixing, separating, snubbing, distributing and metering or controlling flow, where the parts are generally recognized as piping components or accessories.
