Criteria for Parking Regulation


(1)

If overnight parking in waysides, rest areas and winter recreational parking areas creates traffic and/or personal safety hazards, visible sanitation problems, sanitation problems not directly discernible, interferes with normal highway maintenance procedures or interferes with public usage for reasons of traffic safety or the intended use of the location, then the Chief Engineer shall regulate parking.

(2)

If parking overnight or otherwise on beach access roads and all other accessible areas on state highways creates any type of safety hazard, visible sanitation problems, sanitation problems not directly discernible or interferes with normal highway maintenance procedures, or the intended use of the location, then the Chief Engineer shall regulate parking.

(3)

The extent of parking regulation and the areas to be regulated shall be determined by a study of the areas.
