Standards for Development in the Oregon State School for the Deaf Area

The following standards for development shall apply to projects in the Oregon State School for the Deaf Area:

(1)

Set back requirements for buildings located in the Oregon State School for the Deaf Area are as follows:

(a)

From a street — A minimum depth of 20 feet, plus one additional foot for each one foot of height of the building in excess of 35 feet;

(b)

From other buildings — As required by the Oregon State Structural Specialty Code and Fire and Life Safety Code.

(2)

No building or other structure in the Oregon State School for the Deaf Area shall exceed 70 feet in height.

(3)

The maximum building coverage in the Oregon State School for the Deaf Area is 50 percent of the land area. (Review for compliance with the City of Salem Ordinances.)

(4)

Development within the Oregon State School for the Deaf Area shall be landscaped in a manner protective of the surrounding community environment.
