Installation of Electric Service
(1)
For the connection of its distribution system to the customer’s premises, an electric company shall, with the exceptions provided under its extension rules, furnish service connections to the customer’s service entrance.(2)
The electric company shall furnish, own, operate, maintain, and replace the service connections with the exceptions as may be listed in these rules or its tariff for line extensions.(3)
The service entrance on a customer’s premises shall be so located as to make the meter and service easily accessible from the electric company’s distribution lines and convenient for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the company’s meters and equipment.(4)
The electric company will not be required to install or maintain more than one service connection directly from its distribution lines to the premises of any customer. Each customer may be required to install and maintain, at his/her own expense, all wiring and equipment needed to be installed on his/her premises to enable the company to furnish and meter, at a single point on the customer’s premises, all service to be used by the customer. If conditions make it advisable for the company to use a single connection from its distribution line to furnish service to two or more customers on the same or different premises, the service connection shall be of adequate capacity for the purpose, and the service furnished to each customer shall be metered and billed separately.
