(1) For each biennium that the Legislature appropriates money to the Department for the purpose of offsetting costs incurred by school districts for requirements around dyslexia, the Department will administer grants to eligible school districts and eligible public charter schools.
(2) The Oregon Department of Education shall allocate the Dyslexia-Related Training Grants based on the following criteria:
(a) Eligible recipients are school districts that are required to comply with the teacher training requirements in OAR 581-022-2440 (Teacher Training Related to Dyslexia) and public charter schools that enroll students in kindergarten through grade five.
(b) Each biennium the Department will determine the amount of money to be awarded to each eligible recipient by dividing the total funds available for that biennium by the number of kindergarten through grade five schools in school districts that are required to comply with OAR 581-022-2440 (Teacher Training Related to Dyslexia) and participating public charter schools.
(3) Dyslexia-Related Training Grants shall be separately accounted for and used only for the purpose of meeting the teacher training requirements in OAR 581-022-2440 (Teacher Training Related to Dyslexia).
