Mental health wellness policies for law enforcement agencies


(1)

As used in this section, “law enforcement agency” means:

(a)

A city or municipal police department.

(b)

A county sheriff’s office.

(c)

The Oregon State Police.

(d)

A police department established by a university under ORS 352.121 (University police departments and officers) or 353.125 (Creation of police department and commission of police officers).

(2)

A law enforcement agency shall establish a mental health wellness policy for addressing issues related to the mental health wellness of law enforcement officers employed by the agency. [Formerly 181A.832]
Note: 181A.487 (Mental health wellness policies for law enforcement agencies) was enacted into law by the Legislative Assembly but was not added to or made a part of ORS chapter 181A or any series therein by legislative action. See Preface to Oregon Revised Statutes for further explanation.
